Scope of this Notice
This Privacy Notice describes how AmRent (“we,” “us,” and “our”) collects, uses, maintains, shares, and protects your personal information:
• When you use our website or submit information to us through a submission form on this website;
• In providing services to our customers, including when we resell consumer reports to our customers; and
• When you contact our Privacy Office or Consumer Assistance Team by telephone or mail or submit an AmRent Report Request Form, AmRent Dispute Form, or Trafficking Block Request Form to us through an offline channel.
This Privacy Notice describes our website and offline data privacy practices. Personal information, as used in this Privacy Notice, means any information that relates to or can be used to identify an individual person, including name, address, date of birth, telephone number, and Social Security number.
Website Data Collection Practices
• Information Collected on Pages with Online Forms
You control the personal information you send to us when completing and submitting an online request form to us. We may require you to provide certain personal information to submit your request. We use the information you send to us in these forms to respond to your requests.
We use certain security controls to protect our website from fraud, abuse, malicious bots, and other automated attacks. If you interact with the reCAPTCHA tool on any page on our website that includes an online request form, we and the vendor that provides this tool may collect and analyze certain technical and network information, including, but not limited to, your IP address, referral URL, device, browser, and operating system attributes, interaction signals, date, language settings, screen resolution, and JavaScript objects and installed browser plugins, to help us distinguish legitimate activities from automated or malicious activities.
We retain this automatically collected information for operational purposes, such as investigating security incidents, running analytics to understand usage, and for compliance with security standards. We do not use this information to identify any individual consumer or household.
We may also use a vendor to assist us in providing online request forms. This vendor may receive your online request form. We do not use session replay or similar technologies that can replicate your actions in completing an online form before you submit that form to us, so the personal information you enter in an online form is not accessible to us or our vendor until you submit the form. If you do not wish to provide your personal information to our vendor through an online form, you may submit your request to us through other disclosed channels.
The vendors we use for these security controls and forms process this information on our behalf to provide these services.

Some browsers transmit "do not track" signals to the websites and other online services with which a user communicates. Other Data Collection and Processing Practices
How We Obtain Personal Information
In the course of our business, our customers provide personal information to us to obtain our services, as allowed by applicable credit reporting and data privacy laws.
We resell consumer reports. When acting as a reseller, we do not maintain our own database of personal information from which new reports are created. Instead, we obtain credit, criminal record and housing court information from third-party sources and deliver this information to our customers.
You may also provide us with your personal information when you contact our Consumer Assistance Team by telephone or mail or through other channels. We also process personal information when contacted by consumers to authenticate and assist consumers regarding their consumer reports. If you contact us by telephone, we may record and transcribe our conversations with you to help us ensure a quality consumer assistance experience. We may engage service providers to process this information on our behalf.
These providers are contractually required to use your personal information only to provide these services to us.
How We Use Personal Information
In addition to obtaining and providing consumer reports to our customers, we use personal information to support other business functions, such as maintaining data integrity and accuracy and for fraud prevention, information security, legal support, and statistical analysis.
Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
Information that we receive from customers or data vendors may be sent to our affiliates, subcontractors, or technology and data vendors that assist us in providing services.
We sell consumer report information to its customers who have a permissible purpose under applicable credit reporting and data privacy laws to access this information.
Disclosure of Personal Information for Legal and Safety Reasons
We may be required to disclose personal information to the court law enforcement agencies, government agencies, regulators, or similar entities. We may disclose information as required by law, litigation, or as a matter of national security to comply with valid legal processes including subpoenas, court orders or search warrants, and as otherwise authorized by law. We may also need to disclose personal information in the event of an emergency that threatens an individual's life, health, or security.
Accuracy of Consumer Reports
We follow reasonable procedures to ensure the accuracy of information in consumer reports, as required under Section 607(b) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Consumer Access and Correction Rights
Consumers can contact us to request a copy of the consumer report we previously provided to our customer. To protect the privacy of consumers, we require that consumers provide proper identification prior to disclosing consumer report information. Under Section 611 of the Fair Credit Reporting, a consumer has the right to dispute inaccurate or incomplete information in a consumer report.
When a consumer disputes information in a consumer report, we will convey the dispute to the applicable consumer reporting agencies for further investigation. When the consumer reporting agency notifies us of the results of their investigation, we will convey the information to the consumer.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not intend to share your personal information with third parties, except as described above. However, we may disclose your information in the following scenarios:
• When required by law, subpoena, or other legal process or enforceable governmental request or when necessary to protect our rights.
• When necessary to investigate, take action, or prevent suspected or actual illegal activities, fraud, or potential threats to safety or personal physical safety.
• If our company or our assets are acquired or purchased by another company, that company will assume responsibility for the information collected through the website.
We do not sell personal information to third parties for marketing purposes, and for that reason, cannot process requests to opt-out of the sale of personal information.
Security Measures to Protect Personal Information
The security of personal information is important to us. We have adopted security measures to protect the confidentiality of the personal information we collect and maintain about consumers. We prohibit the unlawful disclosure of personal information and have implemented controls to ensure that access to personal information is limited to those employees, affiliates, and third parties who need to know such information to provide the services that our customers or consumers have requested or to support our business functions. We maintain an information security program that contains administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the security and confidentiality of personal information from unauthorized disclosure in accordance with applicable credit reporting and data privacy laws and industry standards. Our security program is designed to: (1) ensure the security and confidentiality of personal information, (2) protect against anticipated threats or hazards to the security or integrity of the information, and (3) protect against unauthorized access, alteration, and unlawful disclosure of the information.
Retention of Data and Disposal of Personal Information
We retain personal information for as long as necessary for business purposes, to provide services to our customers, or as requested by our customers. At the end of the applicable retention lifecycle, personal information is destroyed or otherwise rendered inaccessible. We take reasonable measures to protect against unauthorized access to or use of consumer information in the disposal of such information.
Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information on this website from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us as noted below.
International Privacy
This Privacy Notice describes how we collect, use, and share personal information about individuals in the United States and its territories. Our website and this Privacy Notice are not directed at residents of countries other than the United States and its territories. As such, we are unable to process requests from consumers to exercise their data access, deletion, or other rights under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or other international privacy laws.

We do not transfer personal information about you to third parties outside the United States or its territories.

Our policies and procedures for preparing and processing of investigative consumer reports are designed to comply with the requirements of the California Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 1786 et seq.) and the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.). We, for example, maintain policies and procedures designed to limit the purposes for, and circumstances under which, we furnish investigative consumer reports. We provide individuals with the ability to request, upon proper identification, access to information we hold about them in our investigative consumer reporting files. We conduct reinvestigations of the accuracy and completeness of information at the individual's request. We also have implemented administrative, physical and technical safeguards designed to protect the information that we maintain in our investigative consumer reporting files.
